KATE JHUGROO

I am a UKCP accredited psychotherapist. I work psychodynamically and also offer a body focused sensorimotor approach.  I am experienced in a wide range of emotional and relationship difficulties, working one to one with both men and women over the age of 18.

My aim is to provide a framework which will allow you to articulate and process difficult feelings or experiences that you are facing. Therapy sessions provide an opportunity for you to feel understood and supported which can often bring relief and a renewed capacity to cope.

the relationship between therapist and client is very important. An initial appointment will give you an opportunity to talk openly about your concerns and a chance to experience how we might work together. What you choose to talk about will be in confidence. We can think together about what you are hoping for from therapy.
People come and see me for many different reasons, and some of the things I can help with are:  relationship problems, trauma, childhood trauma and complex trauma, family issues, loss, bereavement, anxiety, depression, work related stress and low self-worth.
I have worked in the charitable sector and currently work in private practice.

Qualifications:
I trained at WPF therapy, a leading clinic and institution in London. I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Theory and Practice.
I have also trained with the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute focusing on trauma, complex trauma and developmental themes. This enables me to include the body in psychotherapy as both a source of information and a target for intervention.
I am an accredited member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy and a member of the Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling.

My fees are £60 for an initial consultation and between £60 and £85 for ongoing sessions depending on what you can afford.
